Deborah Bozell Donahue was born October 7, 1946, in Lebanon, Indiana. In 1950 her family relocated to Elwood, Indiana, where she was raised with her other siblings, Diana, William and Denny, ( her twin brother.) She graduated from Wendell L. Willkie High School in 1964, and in 1968, accepted a position with Eastern Airlines as a Passenger Sales Agent. She was employed with Eastern Airlines until 1988 completing 20 years of service. She resided in Indianapolis, Indiana, Miami Beach, Florida, and Daytona Beach, Florida, during her employment with the airline. After her career with Eastern Airlines, she accepted a position with NASCAR in Daytona Beach, Florida as an Administrative Assistant to the Chief-Pilot.. She worked for NASCAR until 1992 when she retired to become a full- time housewife, and a volunteer in her community. She was united in marriage to Charles Patrick Donahue in 1984. Debby and Pat reside in Ormond Beach, Florida, where he is an Associate Professor of Aeronautical Science at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.

 

 

Deborah's father, Denzil Bozell, is the son of William Jennings Bozell and Clara Sloan Bozell. Denzil was born January 10, 1917, in Atlanta, Indiana. He is the sibling of Mary Jean, Rene Thomas, Adeline and JoAnn. Denzil was the sibling of three other brothers, two who died at infancy, and an older brother, Delmas Fenton, who passed away at age 12. He was united in marriage on August 3, 1941, to Dorothy Kirkpatrick, the daughter of William and Minnie Kirkpatrick of Jamestown, Indiana. Denzil and Dorothy were married 51 years at the time of his death in 1992.

Denzil and Dorothy are the parents of four children, Diana Bozell Rigney, William D. Bozell, and twins, Denny L. Bozell and Deborah Bozell Donahue.

Denzil was employed with the Ohio Oil Company for 19 years and later retired after 27 years of service for Delco Remey, a division of General Motors. In 1990 he received his 50-year pin with the Quincy Masonic Lodge of Elwood, Indiana. He was a member of the Elwood Chapter, Council, and the Commandary of Tipton, Indiana. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 662 and a member of the Elwood First Baptist Church. Denzil was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting. He was a devoted husband, a wonderful father, and a loving grandfather. Denzil Bozell passed away on Janaury 11, 1992, at the age of 75. He is laid to rest at the Elwood Cemetery.
