William Sherman Kirkpatrick, age 89, retired fence builder, died suddenly of a heart attack early this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Florence Kirkpatrick Williams, the location where he resided for several years in Jamestown, Indiana.

Born in Hope, Illinois, in Vermillion County, he was the son of William Bryant Kirkpatrick and Mary Ward Kirkpatrick or Elizabeth Molly Scott Kirkpatrick. He was married on June 3, 1899, in Ogden, Illinois, Champaign County, to Minnie May Scott who preceded him in death in 1940. William and Minnie were both residence of Royal, Illinois, at the time of their marriage and he was a farmer by trade. He relocated his family to Boone County, Indiana, after his youngest daughter, Dorothy, was born in Centerville, Indiana in 1916. He was well known throughout Boone and Montgomery Counties where he followed in the fence building trade for many years before retiring because of failing health.

William Sherman Kirkpatrick died from heart complications he suffered prior to his death on January 17, 1962.

Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Oscar (Florence Kirkpatrick) Williams, Jamestown, Indiana, Mrs. Walter (Mable Kirkpatrick) Stewart, Lebanon, Indiana, Mrs. Paul (Hazel Kirkpatrick) Prichard, Jamestown, Indiana, Mrs. Denzil (Dorothy Kirkpatrick) Bozell, Elwood, Indiana, and a deceased infant son, Harry Kirkpatrick. . He had Seventeen (17) grand children and seven (7) great grand children.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, in the Walker Funeral Home at Jamestown, Indiana, where friends may call after 7:00 P.M. today. Burial will be in the Jamestown I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
